i used to swing it pretty similar but now that i have a prettier swing i cant seem to hit it as pure how does he swing it as far as movements go help please!!!

If only we could all swing like that.I think his striking is so pure because of his short, tidy backswing.A compact swing is much easier to keep under control throughout.His body rotation is very good.Makes a strong, downward hit on the ball.All the main differences between Pro contact and Amateur hacking.

There are some similarities between Johnson and Moe Norman (who had perhaps the most repeatable, robotic swing of all time). The main reason Norman never won on the US tour was that he was borderline autistic. Norman used an unusual baseball grip. Johnson does not. What Johnson and Norman do share are: 1 ) compact slightly flat swing, 2) relatively extended arms, 3) the club is always on a perfect single plane. I basically gravitated to the same swing myself before I knew much about either of them. At 65, I am not flexible enough to get the club back even as far as Johnson does, but I can hit the driver 230-250 and consistently keep it in the fairway. And that works for me.

thats cool man i need to see a pga pro as i know im capable of going scratch as i need to practice and gain confidence as i seem to play better as i play for something on the line as opposed to playing a normal round where i play golf swing instead of golf.

Anything I've heard or read about Zach Johnson mentions his very strong grip, and shut club face at the top of backswing. I remember a swing vision segment where they said he really has to rotate his body through the shot and sort of "hold on" to avoid hooking. This is just what I remember hearing, so I can't gaurantee it is entirely accurate.

To me it just looks like a very compact 1-2 punch.

Not quite. Mike Bender believes in a lot of the same things but Zach doesn't stay stacked. You'll see in this video a little reverse K look and a spine that's leaning to our left (his right) at the top:
