Okay, so I have narrowed it down to two hybrids:

PING G10 with UST V2 HL (Reg) 21*
Bobby Jones Players (JS6 Reg) 19*

I'm looking to dump my 2 iron which is 19 degrees in loft. I am wanting something I can hit about 210 to maybe 220 if needed off the tee, fairway and rough. I have demoed the Bobby Jones 19 to death in the stiff but I think I might need a reg flex to get the ball up a little better. Plus, while my drive SS is just under 100mph I don't want to try and kill it every time I hit the hybrid. I am leaning towards the 19 in the BJ because the 21 on the launch monitor really went no further than my current 3 iron, which is right around 200 yds. The 18 in the PING is probably not quite enough loft as well.

I can't remember ever demoing the G10 but I like the club head shape and weight. Anyone want to weigh in on my shaft choices reg over stiff and on the two models I have selected?

There is a local warehouse liquidation sale where I can get either brand new for $120 so I need to act very fast!!

Finally hit the G10 tonight but could not get a ProForce G2 HL shaft to demo. I think the clubface on the PING is a little hotter and being a tad larger it might have a slight advantage off the tee. However, I don't know that I'd feel as confident with it out of the rough. My ball speed with a 21* G10 tonight was 126-27 so I believe I am in the 87 mph swing speed range and therefore would need the regular shaft. Now, the 21* only goes about 211 max, which is a little short of what I am looking for. So I'd need the 18 in the Ping or the 19 in the BJ. Another thing I noticed was that on really hard swings with the G10, I'd loose the ball ever so slightly to the right and with the Bobby Jones it was to the left. Hmmm. And now, I see that the BJ website has the Workshop Edition hybrids for sale. Double Hmmm.

I play the g-10's, and the hybrids are the best clubs in the set. I feel comfortable hitting them from any lie. The bal explodes off the clubface with a sweet "ping", gets up fast, and flies with a good trajectory. The ball checks up well when using them on appraoch; they seem to have better spin than the comparable irons. I played (2) BJ clubs last spring, I enjoyed them but the ping hybrids sold me on the G-10 set. I have since decided I would prefer a different wedge than the G-10 though.
The fade/draw difference in the two clubs is most likely the differences in the shafts.
BTW - I hit my 21* to the 215-220 range avg. my SS is 105 - 110 and tend to hit a slight draw on my longer clubs.

Either of the brands you have chosen will perform for you, I have found the G-10 works well for me.

Thanks man! I appreciate the advice. I think since I hit them both very well, it may come down to confidence and aesthetics. There is little to no price difference.

BTW, damn 110 swing speed with a hybrid or even a driver is crazy fast!

I think those are 2 of the very best kind of hybrids you could buy. I like everything that I've seen of the Bobby Jones/Jesse ortiz stuff. I prefer the G5 to the G10, but that's just a matter of taste for the smaller head. it sounds like you swing about as hard as I do. I play R in most of my stuff. I say buy 'em both and sell the one you don't like, or swap them back and forth.

The reasons you gave are the best two. If you could demo both of them at the same time, yo really could make a difinitive compatison.
I gained about 10mph when I finally learned to turn my torso with my shoulders, and reduce lateral movement of my arms above the elbows. Everything just clicked then.
I'm 6'4" tall which helps that speed, but have 3 bad disks and I'm 40yrs old; which really sucks. The reason for the range 105-110 (some inconsistency on the swing analyzer)
One day the putter will catch up with the rest of my game.

Thanks again guys. Since I have only demoed the clubs apart, I think I will go back to the original store - not their warehouse sale liquidation location - where I can demo both side-by-side. I am thinking that I will in fact go with my original idea and get the Jones because of its smaller head and perceived better confidence out of the rough. We shall see.

I am big guy, tall, but i only hit avg...7 iron about 145. Swing speed about 75-82 with irons, about 95-100 or so woods. Driver goes about 220-250 (avg 230). 3 Wood about 220-235. I have a TM dual hybrid 22 i like (goes 190). When deciding whether to keep my five wood that i hit normally about 200-215 yards i decided i prefer hybrids for my swing.
I play R flex in irons and std stiff in woods and recently in hybrids. Just normal OEM stiffs, nothing too stiff.
I took a chance on a demo used ping g10 18 degree hybrid with stock ping shaft tfc i think its called in stiff. I went to a heated range due to snow here in toronto, a few weeks back and when i finally tried the ping i was blown away.
My fear that a 18 degree hybrid would not be enough loft was so far from reality, it got up and high! But it was weird..not high ballooning..high..where it seemed to carry and carry and carry.
I was hitting slightly frozen balls...and it was landing at about 200-210. Based on previous experience of this cold range vs summer golf..i should hit it roughly 210-220 which means i can drop my five wood which i hit well, but not this straight. Yeah thats what i also forgot..it was straight as could be.

I may even eventually replace the tm dual...maybe...it is sweet. my two cents.

Thanks for the help man. Truth is, I have always been borderline between reg/stiff in terms of shafts. I remember I Cleveland 1 iron I bought in high school with a regular shaft that I snapped in a tournament teeing off on a long par 3. I have always gravitated to stiff shafts since then. My 5 iron SS is about 86 and my driver SS is right around 100 or sometimes a tad under. I have some older Burner Bubble woods, 3W and 5W with the stiff S-90 stiff shaft and I never really liked their stiffness off the ground. Off the tee they are fine, but too stiff when hitting off the deck.
