hi, I have a Callaway Diablo driver - 10 degrees with the stock Aldilla DVS red shaft (stiff) that it comes with.
Has anyone experience this to be a high launching shaft out of curiosity ? I am trying to hit my drives lower and get a more penetrating ball flight. I use mainly prov 1s. and hit my 8 iron 150 yards if that helps at all.

In my bag:
Titleist 910D2 w/Diamana Kaali'Stiff
Titleist 910F w/ Diamana Kaali' Stiff
Titleist 910F Hybrid 19 degree w/ Diamana Kaali' Stiff

Titleist AP1 Irons - TT S300
Titleist Vokey SM 50, 54 & 58 - Titleist Scott Cameron Newport

its mid-flight launch shaft. Its definatliy not going to be a low penetrating shaft, its not tip stiff enough. it could be something with your swing causing the higher ball flight. If you want lower, try a higher kick point shaft such as the "By You" Shaft.

okay thanks for the info - how would the "by you" shaft compare to those green aldilla shafts you see a lot of?? and who makes the "by you" shafts??

Try going to this site to learn more about grphite shafts......

If you find your ball flight is too low or too high, then choosing a shaft with the right bend point can help. If you want to hit the ball on a lower trajectory, choose a bend point of High. For a higher trajectory, choose a bend point of Low. For something in between, go with Mid rating for bend point.

Aldila makes the "By You" Shaft. Its going to be similar to the Green NV, but its going to be something that's going to produce a lower ball flight. That's just one option. If you like the DVS and just want a lower ball flight, look into the Aldila "By You" If you want something different just make sure you are looking at shafts with HIGH kick points, which will produce lowere ball flights.
