Hi, I'm looking to get my set fitted for the first time this season. I live near Hackensack NJ, but work throughout the NY Metro area.
I am seeking advice/reccomendations as to who I should go to. I'd prefer to find a talented independent specialist I can develop a professional relationship with in northern NJ; rather than use a large chain, or travel into Manhattan, but I'll go where I need to to get the job done correctly.

Here is a place, I am considering. I am thinking of getting fit for a new Driver and maybe a fairway driver (see my signature below). I haven't contacted the place yet though.

I had my irons and woods fitted and built by Tim Mosel (the guy Farm Kid linked to).

I can't say enough about him, his shop, or the clubs he made me. The guy is a golf fanatic who really REALLY cares that you get a good fit, and that your club shafts/heads match your ability. Be prepared to spend time as he evaluates every aspect of your swing - this is not just a 5 minute Golfsmith launch monitor judgement - but that time is well worth it at the end. His prices are quite reasonable as well (although finding a parking spot near his shop can be a bitch).

If you do go, tell him Tom the radio star ;) sent you.

If you have any specific questions about my experience that you want to ask, shoot me an e-mail ( notepad101 (at) gmail.com ).

Good luck, whichever club maker you choose. There's nothing like fitted clubs.

Tom

Bag It:

3-Wood Wishon 525 F/D, 13*, Matrix Studio 65gm, Golf Pride Dual Compound
Hybrid: Wishon "321", 24*, MSF 85 HB, Winn DSI
Irons: Wishon 770CFE, Matrix Studio 74gm, Winn DSI

Putter: Odyssey DFX 2-Ball

Bag: Some big, honkin', ridiculous overkill of an Ogio cart bag with more pockets than I have teeth.
