Well, some of you know that my R9's, along with the rest of my clubs were stolen.

I bought a set of Turbo Power cheapies to get me by, but even without hitting them, just the fact that they were "cheap" clubs was constantly playing with my mind. I went to Pro Golf today, and was hitting different irons, mainly went in to see if they had any decent used clubs, but ended up seeing the sale rack with the brand new Clevelands on it. I took them, along with a set of used Callaway X20's to the launch monitor. I ended up liking them so much that I did what I didn't want to do, and plunk down to have them fitted, and brought them home this afternoon.

I hit them nice and straight on the monitor, which typically over-accentuates my slice. I can't wait for the rain to pass to get out on the driving range again. I haven't been this excited about playing a round of golf since my R9's showed up.....

Any reviews on these clubs? Experiences?

It was nice enough to get out to the range today and try them out for the first time. Man, I should have given up true GI irons a long time ago, I think. The golf pro noted that my swing has always been better than my score though.

Well, here's my reactions. Now, this may just be the new iron honeymoon, but honestly, I like the way these feel more than my R9's. I also seemed to have gained around 10 yards with each club, but we'll see if that holds up long-term. I was hitting my pitching wedge 130yards in the air today, where I averaged 120 with my R9's. I had never really understood "feedback" in irons, since I went from playing Slazinger hybrid irons, to X-22's, to R9's. But these really let you know when you hit a bad shot.

I guess I'm just surprised because I expected to be all over the place with these, since they aren't as forgiving as any of my other clubs, but quite the opposite was happening. I was hitting the ball arrow straight, and when I tried, I could even put a tiny bit of draw on it, which I've never really don't with any consistancy when I was trying. I guess I was not cut out for high offset, game improvement clubs, even if with my handicap, that's what most Pros were suggesting to me.

Next weekend, it's time to go play a round with them, and we'll see how the honeymoon translates to the course.
