Im a fan...Kind of. I used to root against them becuase of my UC backround but the older I get, the more I like them (I am from NKY). I also have a father in law who is a big fan.

You cannot spell suck without UC. HA! That's my favorite line against UC. Look out for Lance Stephenson next year (if he comes back, I'm pretty sure he entered the draft).

I am a HUGE Kentucky fan, I went to multiple games last year as well as Big Blue Madness and the first ever open practice where people were allowed in with a certain wristband (I got my from D. Cousins :))

I'm probably the only person from Kentucky that can't stand UK. The Bandwagon fans make me sick. When Gillespie was coach, you never heard anyone say much, but then Pitino Jr rolls in and suddenly everyone has been a diehard UK fan their whole life.

It doesn't really matter, UK will be on NCAA probation in a few seasons, and Calipari will move on to cheat somewhere else....

Love the Cats and followed Cincinnati until Huggins left. Now the Bearcats are crap. They need a big name coach to get (eligible) recruits. But thats another thread. I hated to see multiple players leave to the draft. I think Cousins coulda used another year for sure and Wall, well, it wouldn't have hurt. NCAA needs to make it mandatory for kids to play at least 2 years IMO. I understand hardships and that money can help their families. But what about me? :p

Definitely NOT! It's not so much as the Kentucky Wildcats themselves as much as their ridiculous fans! I get SOOO tired of hearing about them at work, at the gym, at the golf course, at church and so on. Who really cares? Whether UK wins a championship or doesn't even make it to the tournament, my paychecks are the same and I sleep just the same, and so does every UK fan whether they like to admit it or not. I get tired of turning on my radio in the vehicle during ball season and every station has a UK coach's segment on and some redneck calls in "Hey, good job last week coach, how do you think we're going to match up against Vanderbilt's Defense?" or my favorite, "hey coach, sorry about the loss, it ruined my whole week." Your whole week...? GET A LIFE!

I know everybody needs to have pride in something, but I get so sick of Go Big Blue and "I gotta get home to watch the cats tonight." Most people in this state don't know the difference in Lexington and Louisville and definitely didn't attend UK(or college for that matter). Yuck, I was hoping I wasn't going to have to hear or read about this crap again until the fall!

Count me into this same group. You guys think it's bad where you live, try living in Lexington! I actually used to like UK growing up, but for the same reasons JaredSS outlined, my like quickly turned to dislike; on the verge of hatred. Of course all schools have their share of crazy fans, but for a UK loss to ruin your whole week or for you to constantly have to talk about the newest rumored recruit, how your first to 2000 wins, how ESPN and every other news outlet conspires against UK because they are jealous of the success UK has had or how John Wall is better than Evan Turner, it really is enough to drive someone insane.

THANK YOU!!!! As i was reading this I turned around and my co-worker's computer background has a picture of Brandon Knight putting on a UK hat. Good grief, you're 38 dude with a picture of high school kid(thats not y our child) on your background!! I could see being a proud UK fan if any of the kids were actually from Kentucky. I liked Kentucky when Patrick Sparks played back in 04 and 05 because I went to high school with him and felt like I had a vested interest, but now its just a bunch of thugs Calipari has recruited(and suspiciously at that).

But even when Sparks played I wasn't goofy about it, if they won great, if not, who cares! I've seen T-Shirts here where I live(Muhlenberg County) that say "Coal, Cats and Calipari-Kentucky Traditions." Seriously, I like Coal since I work at a coal-fired powerplant and many people in this state make their living because of coal, but how in the world is Calipari a Kentucky tradition? Okay, I'm now stepping off my soap box, but I'm glad I had some back-up on this issue!

But only one was worth mentioning.......as a Kentucky Fan, Patrick Patterson was the only one who went more than one year....he went three and Graduated!...the rest were just using UK to get to the NBA.

I can't get excited over somebody that was only there less than a year!

I wonder if their NBA signing bonus will be as big as the one they got from UK?

    • Day 65: did a stack session.
    • Day 272: 9/29/24 Putting through gates for about 30 minutes today.
    • Ok, that makes sense. I was trying to wrap my head around that concept when I was writing my post.
    • 78 today at Minnesott (36 front / 42 back) - a new first with an even par on the front.  A big day of up and downs for par.  Only 26 putts against 4 GIR and 5 nGIR.  Was a CPO (cart path only) day due to recent rains.  Overall game was on - until 18 where I was looking at having a first “no-sixes” and made a triple 7 (tee shot in the lake, 2nd tee in fairway, shot 4 approach to right of green pin high, shot 5 bogie on the green, long two putts for triple 7.  Still a solid round and new personal best.
    • I believe that 76 bpms is the tour average (or somewhere around that). I think that's from taking it back to impact. I'm not 100% sure of exactly how it works since a typical pendulum is already moving when it starts going back. The putter on the throughswing ideally would work pretty much exactly like a pendulum though. To get the exact same time period from starting the putter back to impact, you'll have to accelerate it a lot faster on a longer putt right at the beginning until it gets to the speed it needs to be to make the putter move the right distance. Probably all way too much to think about while actually hitting a putt, but bottom line is I agree entirely that a metronome is a good thing to use if you're working on your putting tempo. As to the split between backstroke and downstroke, the tour tempo lot said 2:1 is the ideal. 3:1 for full swing. 2:1 for short game and putting. Whenever I go on a SAM I am about 1.7:1 I think and I can't for the life of me get my backstroke to be slow enough to get it to 2:1. Ho hum. Last comment - if you do have a perfect pendulum putting stroke and you have the ball slightly forward of the center of your stance, then the putter should be just starting to rise again at impact and with the way that pendulum motion works, it should be very slightly decelerating at impact, which I believe someone may have suggested once 😛
