Hello All! I will be making my 1st trip to Myrtle at the end of Feb-March 7th with our college baseball team. I will have a few opportunities to play some golf on practice/off days and wanted to know of some affordable courses. I may be spoiled with my $20-25 to walk 18 green fees that I have around me but I dont want to break the bank on this trip, the wife would kill me with a little one on the way! I will need to play early mornings and would like to stay under $40 if possible, if not then maybe I'll just play 2x. We are staying in Myrtlewood if that helps with location of some good courses. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Good luck finding any under 40$, the morning tee times are the premium times down there, most courses down there have different rates for morning and afternoon tee times, also not all courses allow walking and singles. Your best bet would be to call around when your down there, maybe Myrtlewood will give you a deal seeing how your staying there. You could also try searching the internet for Mrtle Beach Golf, there are a lot of deals out there. Good luck.

MBN.com is a good website to go to right now youll prolly find myrtle beach national west an southcreek under 40 if you play before 815 but its only if you book through their site. I suggest if you really like golf spending an extra 15 bucks or so and playing a nicer course its hard to find one for 40 down there. Good Luck.

The spring time is their busy season in Myrtle,so the rates are at their highest for the year.I would search the internet for deals ,there are a bunch of sites out there that gives prices and rate courses, you can also book through some of them. I'm also going there this spring, i booked my trip with Longbay Resorts for 550$(4 nights room and 4 rounds golf)in april, same package right now 400$. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies, I have done some research online, even before I made this post. I found a course calls Eagles Nest that was like $39 but I think I will just have to play only 2x and play at nicer courses. Which I'm ok with, I will just make sure to spend a few days at the course near us hitting balls. Last year we went down to Florida and played at a nice course that was like 80 (for non-residents, what B.S!) and it was way too difficult for my first round of the year. Thanks again for the responses!

Golfnow.com.

Golf Digests power play with their tee times only booking engine, GolfNow isn't in the Myrtle Beach area. Myrtle Beach is a resort town where golf packaging is king.

Well I ended up only being able to play once, I spent about 1 1/2 hrs on the practice range/chipping green for 2 days and then we got 8 straight hours of rain...that really messed up the baseball schedule! But I played early in the morning at Myrtlewood - Palmetto course, it was pretty nice for being so wet. I hit my new clubs (Driver,3W, 3h,4h) and irons pretty well for the first time out, short game was horrible. I was too worried about the wet turf/mud so I counted 13 fat or bladed chips, add in 3 buried bunker balls that took 2 shots to get out each, that killed my score. I shot a 113, last year my average for the year was 98, but I did hit 8 fairways, which is really good for me and had 34 putts (36 was my average last year for 21 rounds). Overall a good day, it was nice to be outside in the sun, even if it was 45 degrees and breezy!
