Why I miss tiger competing

I enjoyed the 2009 Fed-Ex way more than the 2008 one, and who was playing?

PGA 2008 was pretty good but 2009 Tiger and Yang was even better. Tiger just makes everything better. He isn't normal. When he plays good nobody can touch him.

I don't think it's stupid either. You really do have to wonder about someone who won't watch golf on TV because one particular player is having a hiatus.

Golf on TV is about ratings & Tiger drives ratings. The #s show that when Tiger is in a tournament attendance is way up. When Tiger is in contention on Sunday ratings are up like 1/3. So like Tiger or not....when one person has that much appeal they coimmand a lot of power.

Golf is not the only sport that has that situation. For example, ratings for the NBA finals are dependent a lot of player personalities. This year ratings will be up if the Lakers (Kobe ) & say Cleveeland (LaBron) make it to the finals. Even the Celtics & Orlanda will keep ratings up. But if one of those teams get upset & say you have Atlanta va utah in the finals...ratings will be down a lot. Golf (like all pro sports) know they are going to get the dedicated fan to watch but to drive ratings they need the casual fan.
