It has recently come to my attention that MP-67s are still available for purchase - even an order - through retailers, although this won't likely last into the next year. The idea of replacing 8-P with -67s has been on my mind for a while, and I really like the idea of an integrated set. However, unlike the other threads about this, I'm not starting an iron set as integrated: I'm swapping out parts in the middle .

Currently, my irons are 5-9 in MP-57, then three wedges (MP-T), 47, 51, and 56. The MP-57 pitching wedge is 47 degrees, so this works nicely. Furthermore, for these clubs, my distances are spread out about where I feel they should be. My shafts are R300 and slightly shorter than standard (I forget if it's -1/4" or -1/2"); despite my distances getting up to the point where people suggest considering S-flex, my tempo is rather smooth and I'm starting to doubt that I'll need S-flex anytime soon.

Now, the MP-67s are based on a 48° pitching wedge, which I like. My question, for those who have done this (or know about these things), is: what else should I expect to need to change (in existing clubs) if I take my 8 and 9 irons, as well as my 47° wedge, out of the bag, replacing them with MP-67s?

Furthermore, I'm pondering another big decision: should I buy a full used set of -67s - they have some around here for about what I'd pay for just 8-P new - and just replace the shafts on the ones I want to use, or get new ones for the irons I'm replacing? I'm leaning towards new, but I wonder if there's a strong reason to taking experienced irons.

That is why i loved my KZG Forged Evolution set. Every club, starting at the high irons which were cavity backs, got 10% closer to blades, with the 9i and pw being full blades.

Now i have my KZG Forged Evolution 4 iron, and 5-PW KZG ZO Blades. Love it.
