Any interesting E-Bay stories here?

This is before the FT-5 came out. When I first started playing, about 3-4 years ago. I traded a BBII for FT-3 at C preowned and wanted to buy my son one for his birthday. I found one on e-bay and won the bid which was very lucky I thought. The so called seller was in Idianna so i didn't think there was a problem. When it arrived I compared it to my FT_3 and it had a different face,besides the chinese lettering on the box. Typical newbe that I was I didn't know about fake equipment. My future son in law and I went to a driving range to hit some balls. Both of us hit wicked banana balls with it. Now I can do that with any club, but he shoots around an 8 and he couldn't hit it straight. The funny thing is, it was as long as my FT-3 when it it sliced. I then traded up to an FT-5 and it had the same face.

I think it would surprize many people about the amount of fake clubs there are. There have been a lot of posts on hear about fakes.

My first ebay purchase of a golf related item was a Cobra Baffler Pro....shaft was snapped in half when I received it. All good purchases since though...and many of them.

Rule of thumb for ebay purchases:

1) do not buy from someone with less than 100+ transactions
2) do not buy from someone with less than 100% positive feebacks or very close too.
3) do not buy from someone who post only a general picture and not from the actual item
4) Give the seller a phone call in person when in doubt.

Other may have their own rules to purchase on Ebay
