I just picked up some used Titleist 990 Irons online for 99.00 dollars haha how Ironic. Anyways what are your feelings about the 990's? I really love their nice classic look and heard alot of good things about them. I know they are older irons but they use to retail for 150 a club. Not a bad deal and is a definite upgrade from my old irons.

Great set of clubs! My brother had a set for years, and when he wasn't swinging them, I would take'em out. The only issue I had with them was that I thought they might have been a tad on the soft side. The groves wore out a little sooner than I would have expected.

Nice sticks, those 990s. And as $99, they're easily as ironic as rain on your wedding day.

What were your old irons out of curiosity?

I played the 990's for about 5 years with okay success. I enjoyed them, but they leave a little to be desired for feel. If you're used to a pleasing soft-ish feel at impact, you'll have to get used to a little more of a "click" feel/sound at impact. Also, they're not a very forgiving club seeing as they are not really a cavity-back.

All things considered, a pretty good bargain though.

When I started on Titleist Staff in the late 90's I got the 962b's, then the 990's. No major complaints they had flighted Rifle's so the shafts were wicked good, finally my last set was the 690 cb's. The 990's were the weakest of the bunch. Nice club, but not near the look and feel feel of the 962' s and way different from the 690's. If they are an upgrade then you'll like them until you are able to hit something forged, then you'll make the change.
