I've had a set of MX-25s for about a year. Last summer and now this year I've purchased a membership so I am playing a lot more. I feel like I've outgrown these irons. The feel at impact is typical Mizuno softness but they feel like a 2 lb weight on a stick. The shafts are Dynalite R300s.

I also have an old set of Hogan Apex Plus w/ DG S300s. I put the Hogan heads on the R300s and they are just not a good match together.

Could the MX-25s possibly feel more balanced with a different shaft? Something heavier? I wanted to try the mizunos on the hogan DG300s but of course they're tapered. So no go.

I hate for the answer to be buying yet another set of irons, especially considering this would mean 3 entire sets just sitting in the garage. I have another set of MacGregor VIP V-Foils as well.

I guess I'm a golf equipment hoarder, I get more but never get rid of anything.

Anyway, most of this is just sorting out my thoughts which are running everywhere right now, but mainly, could the MX-25's be more "balanced" with another shaft? Would simply going from regular to stiff change the feel of the head "outweighing" the shaft? There's no answer to this... What a love/hate relationship with golf...

I'm still hitting my MX-25's with the R300 pretty good. I have been considering getting S300 shafts since my swing speed has increased since I've bought them.

Have you considered bring your club in to the local golf store and compare them with other Mizuno clubs just for fun. Ask a knowledgeable salesperson if the shaft is a good fit for your swing speed and if he recommend another set of irons. reshafting expense vs buying another set of irons what is the price difference?

Best advice I can give you is to find a Mizuno Fitting Centre and have a go with their Shaft Optimiser. I think it takes just 6 swings and it provides 3 recommendations, you can then try the shafts in a MX-25 6 iron.

Not familiar with Colorado so here are all the places in that State that offer the service (I found them on the Mizuno USA) site:

Pherg, thank you for the great reply! An answer with research, that is much appreciated! I'm going to get in touch with some of these locations.
