Wedge Bounce and Club Face Contact?

I am going to be purchasing 3 vokeys here soon. I really like hitting hard down on the back of the ball. I like feeling the contact not swooping it off the ground. Does this make me a "digger"? Should i want lots of bounce? I hit a 54.08 ("slider club") It felt like i slid right under it and the ball cover shavings were very high on the clubface.

but you should have the shavings at the bottom of the face since that's where you're meant to start hitting the ball.

Take a look at your divots. The Vokey web site has all kinds of stuff about divot analysis. It asks questions about your game/swing, and from that recommends wedges.

And, as James_Black says, try different bounce recipes.

Also consider the average condition of the courses you play. Here in Texas, the courses usually tend to be on the dry side so I prefer wedges with less bounce. But if your courses have thicker grass, a higher bounce might be better to help the club slide through the turf without digging in.

actually, really think about that.

I live in Ireland and the ground is pretty heavy most of the time so if I had a 3-4* bounce wedge I'd be digging holes everywhere. In America during the summer it's pretty dry so you'd want less bounce.
