I have been using my RAM Zebra putter for over 25 years now ..... I just like it, but as all clubs and also my game have improved a lot over the past 25 years, I feel I loose most on putting.

Nailing a drive or 3W where I about want it or getting a GIR isn't my problem, but making a 3-putt isn't also a big problem for me.

Over the last 3 months I kept detailed scores, missing the fairway from the tee mostly on the left side, okay I am working on a better swingplane now with a good pro, getting lessons for the first time in maybe 15 yrs.

GIR is also fairly good, compared to most players in my HC range, but where I add strokes to my score is in putting.

Over the years I have holed many long putts, but I have also missed soooooooo many 3-4 ft. putts ..... I am sure I could go a mile into single HC if I would manage to reduce the 3-putts.

My goal would be holing a few putts of 6-10 ft per round, holing the majority of the shorter ones and the long putts need to be done in two....... My chipping and pitching is also quite good, nothing worse than putting a 60 ft. chip within 4 ft. of the cup and needing two putts from there.

Butt ...... how to select a better putter ?

For me, the putter first off has to be of a style that fits your eye. After you find that putter, you need to find out whether it fits your stroke. I made a switch this spring to my first ever plumbers neck style putter. I worked very closely with my PGA Teaching Pro (who has been my coach for thirty years) making this change and would not have tried it without his input.
Find a putter you like to look at and give it lots of time on the practice green.
