Howdy folks. I've been an armchair golfer off and on for many years. I've always wanted to play but never really managed to do anything about it. My dad, who is 62, plays in a league two days a week but can't drive anymore so I usually end up giving him a ride to the country club each week so I figured I'd finally get around to finally learning how to play so hopefully I can join his leagues next year. My first lesson with the club pro is on Friday and I'm looking forward to it.

As I've never played before, I wasn't sure what to put down for a handicap when I registered so I just threw in a 50 there and I will update it once I actually have a handicap.

Looking forward to hanging out here and learning as much as I can from everyone.

I'm down in Southern New Hampshire, but if you're already set up with a country club then you should be good to go. There are a lot of nice courses in the area and you can find some great deals especially during the week.

Hope the lesson went well and you bring that 'cap down a bit.
