I need some expert advise on shaft choice, for a 3 wood I hesitate between a ust irod or fujikura 26.3 shaft. I tried them both in a shop and they both felt o.k., I am looking for a medium trajectory and accuracy. My swingspeed with a driver is around 95-100 mph and a 205 yard carry.

Can anyone give me some extra advise?????

Thanks.

I tried a lot of shafts on drivers, but in my 3W all I had was the "old" UST Proforce, which was eventually replaced with Aldila NV. Both very, very solid.
I guess if you tried both and like them - go with the cheaper one

thank you for your reactions and advise, I have to try them both on the course to see and feel the difference, in a shop you can not see the actual ball flight. I play with a taylormade 200 3 wood but I want to replace it by a sonartec 2.5 because I want a more penetrating flight with a easy swing. I let you know wich shaft fits best.

Hmmm.... been wondering about these two shafts of late. Does that mean those both play similarly (I currently have a NV-105 in my Cleveland LDI which I really like and was wondering whether the Proforce 'Classic' or Proforce V2 could be used as replacements in my woods).

Thanks, Binh.

maybe of topic, but why do players try and change a lot on driver shafts and leaf there woods alone??? for me the 3 wood shaft is more important because I use it for long and shaped shots.

I can only speak for myself, but I think it's the search for extra yardage that everyone is after... Accuracy (seeked from the 3W) seems to be less attributed to the shaft, appropriate stiffness and weight that "feels right" does the trick for the fairway woods IMHO...

V2 is definitely stiffer in the tip than NV and the purple/gold UST. IMHO Aldila's NV and the proforce gold are very, very close...

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
