So, I really dont know what to look for in a set of irons, other than being forgiving. I stopped and swung some Nike Slingshots and TM Burners. Liked them both. Just not sure if one would have benefits over the other?

Is there anything else I should be considering when looking for a new set?

Any big difference between these 2 sets why I should perhaps side with one or the other?

Well I perfer graphite shafts on my irons so thats one thing I have to look for in uying new irons. I do think that looks in the irons play a big difference as the added confidence allows you to just play ur game

My dad told me to look for graphite as well, but the guys at the shop said to stick with steel as its for older and slower swinging players mostly. So Im not sure if graphite would benefit me or not? I believe when I was fitted for my driver I was roughly around 105mph, +/-2.

which ones do you like more at adress? which set is more accurate/longer (if that's what you are looking for)?
these are all decisions that will later give you more confidence in the clubs. if i HAD to choose between the two clubs, i would for the TM Burners as i have previously hit them and they look less like shovels than the slingshot do (at least to me). Just as a heads up, the burners have really strong lofts, so a 6 iron basically has the loft of my AP2s 5 iron

I just like the graphite cause they look cool, plus they are alot lighter which gives me the confidence to whip it.

The biggest thing to start is budget. How much do you want to spend?

I would go with steel as opposed to graphite in your irons.

I really not sure on accurate/longer. I really have a strange problem with my irons, as a lot of them just go the same distance. Trying to set up another lesson to get it figured out.

However, Id like to get my own set of irons, as Im playing with some hand me downs from my dad, and when I got my driver and woods, I started hitting a bit better, as I think it was a slight confidence booster having my own and such. Budget I would like to stay at/under $600. I hit these two as they were on sale at Golf Galaxy.

Go check out the cobra FP II as well. A guy I am helping out here picked these up for $299, and I think they are a great set for a mid-level player.

Why don't you just do a full fitting at the place where you want to buy the clubs? They are generally free if you buy clubs at the place you have it done.

Once you know your specs, you will know for sure if you need graphite or steel, high or low kick point, xtra stiff or regular shafts, oversized or regular grips, upright or flat lie angle, etc... Then once you know all that, you will be armed with the info needed to narrow down all the choices to a select few, hit them, and decide from there

I plan to do the fitting, but wasnt sure if I wanted to buy yet last night. I plan to buy soon, but wanted to kinda look around and see what was out there, and see if there was anything I should look for, other than getting fitted.

Are you the guy who's losing all the ProV1s in the other thread? Go with the irons that keep the balls in play.
