Nike Dymo SQ 3 wood R or S shaft?

I am picking one of these up this week as I have been after a new 3 wood but did not want to pay full price, now these have come down in price (after the release of the VR models) I am getting one.

Question I have is that my local shop has one for £79 but with a stiff shaft (my driver/irons/wedges and hybrid are all R shafts) now I have the option of hitting this one as they have a full range but one of the pro's there said that there is not much difference between the R and S in the stock shaft on the Dymo Fairways?

The AG golf shop near me have it for £89 and have it in a R, one of the guys in the shop said that I should stick with the R shaft if I play R in my driver? I can't test the R as they only have one of the computer walls in a bay and don't trust these, but I have hit one of these in an R a few months back and got on fine with it.

So has anyone any experience with these clubs and the stock shaft, has anyone hit both stock shaft options, if so is there a great difference?
Should I stick with the R shaft one (I don't mind paying the extra £10) or is it worth going try the S one? in case I hit it better?

I know it is my decision and I will go with the one I hit the best but just after some opinions

I don't have any experience with Nike clubs. But, generally speaking, a shaft that is too stiff will be a little more accurate but shorter in distance. I've always been told that if you're unsure, to go with the weaker shaft and make a smoother swing.

If you can, I think you should definitely hit this club before you buy it. I have one with the stock shaft, r flex. I have troubles hitting it straight. I slice it some, and then when I try to compensate and come more inside, I hook it badly. I do have more issues with my longer clubs than my shorter ones, but my old larger headed 3 wood is much easier for me to keep in the fairway. Its probably a good club, I just am not good enough to hit it well.

I have a Nike Sumo Driver that I hardly ever pull cause the shaft feels like a wet noodle in my hand at regular flex... Now I do have a Nike Dymo fairway wood- that I pull on every tee shot (also my favorite club in the bag) has a wider and heavier shaft. My suggestion as 14 mentioned above is to go hit the 3 wood and see which shaft feels better.

Cheers guys, I went to try the Stiff shaft one and b4 I did I spoke to the head pro at my local shop (where I buy from) he said not to listen to the junior pro who said the stock shafts are almost the same, he said if I am hitting my driver fine with the R "UST Wide Body Shaft AXIV Core" shaft to stick with the R in the 3 wood as this also uses the "UST Wide Body Shaft AXIV Core"

He gives honest info even if it means the loss of the sale, which is why I like buying from them so much, shame that they had no R's in so got the R version from AG today

Well I gotta say I am well impressed with the Nike Dymo 3 wood, played 18 today and my driving was not my usual solid play, so on the par 5's and longer par 4's I needed to use the 3 wood, not having the jitters I used to have with loosing the ball right with the G10 Draw (for some reason I always hit a slice with a draw club but straight/fade with a neutral, work that out if you can) I pulled out the Nike and hit it like a dream, all shots off the deck went straight with a nice flight and long, enabling a birdy and a par on 2 of the par 5's after short and high drives (worked out by end of round my ball was too far back in stance with the driver) only bad shot I hit with it was off the tee which I lent back on and blocked it right but it still went a country mile

If you are after a new 3 wood then give this one a try, £89 in the UK is a steal for this club, even better when it cost £49 after trading in my beaten up G10 Fairway

I love my SQ 5900, I put the Aldila stiff shaft in it even tho I always used R. For several rounds any bad shot went WAY right but I always need some time to get used to a new big dog no matter how well I hit it before purchase. Now I dont think I could use a R flex in a driver at all. Sounds like you got a great deal there, I got mine custommade from onlinegolf btw!

Yes mate good deal on the 3 wood

I love this 3 wood by Nike and love my Nike driver too, they make great woods. I must add that all my golf clobber is Nike as well, other than my shoes & Cap.
