I got back yesterday from our annual outing, this one was in St Augustine, we played 90 holes in three days at Sllammer & Squire, St Johns CC & Cimarron CC. I was a bit disapointed with Slammer. The staff was excellent & the course was in great shape, I guess I was just expecting more when it came to the layout. The layout was nothing special. I think St Johns was the best course we played. Good service, good condition and an awesome layout. There was trouble for bad shots but not unfairly so. Cimarron is a beautiful layout with water on almost every hole but the course was not very well maintained and when we got there they dropped our groups in the middle of a shotgun start. They didn't say anything about that when we booked it.

Overall, a great weekend. Great people, excellent weather and a great time was had by all.

St. Johns is where they hold Q School in NE Florida. It really is a great course. Cimarron replaced their greens last summer and they never really took so they are really hard, but it is a tough course. I am playing both of the World Golf Village courses, St. Johns, and Amelia National in 2 weeks when my buddies come to town for our golf vacation. Next time, give South Hampton a try. Its right across the street from Cimmarron, but its an "A" course. Right now I would rate Cimmaron a "C+"

Yea, I saw South Hampton, it looked really nice. The greens at Cimarron were really strange, it was like putting on indoor/outdoor carpeting. I do love St Johns though, very nice track. I didn't get to play King & Bear at WGV this time, hopefully soon.
