So its May and every year about this time there are those advertisments for free lesson month, 10 min free lesson. Has anyone done one of these lessons. I'm thinking of setting one up but I'm a bit worried that an instructor would think of me differently because its free. Knowing me I'm probably over analizing the situation.

yeah, i was curious about that, too. i don't know how it works. it'd be worth it for a low handicapper just to have one look at your swing and give you some drills and stuff to work on.

Do it ... it's free ... it's a great way to try out different instructors to see if you find someone you like well enough to continue with regular lessons.

Keep in mind it's a 10 minute lesson. You aren't going to get a complete swing overhaul. You might get a quick tip, or in my case with my current instructor he gave me much more than 10 minutes since he wasn't too busy at that time of the day.

Ya Felenah, don't over analyze.

I have already had mine and im skeptical. I wouldnt worry about what they think of you, but that depends on who you are. Im the type of person who never cares about what people think and in the game of golf that can only help. I went to my local Golf Galaxy and the golf pro taped my swing and analyzed it.

He told me my hands were in too close thats about all. I have a pretty smooth swing normally and I have noted what he said but must remember and if you do the lesson hope you remember this too. Just because one person says something one in a 10 minute lesson do not change your entire swing. The lesson is nice if you want a stranger who knows his stuff to look at your swing. If your serious about changing something then take multiple lessons and maybe walk 9 holes with a pro.

Hope this helps

Hmm I believe it has, one of the courses I'm close to has a 9 hole playing lesson for $75. I think I'll take that offer.

yeah I would as well that is a good deal. I am going to do one soon. Its nice because the golf pro not only helps with your swing in the situations but also what shots to play, strategy and what to think in different situations. (Know this from my father who took one last season)
