Little background. I have been playing with clubs my dad handed down to me when I was 15 (I am 24 now). The set is a Ping eye2 Blue dot steel shaft regular length. I think I might have outgrown them. My current skill level is amateur and I find myself hitting in the higher 90s. I am 6'5 and the past weekend I went to get fitted for some Ping G15s. The "Pro" at PGA Superstore recommended I get Green dote, +1 " long, Steel stiff flex with Jumbo Grip.

I was looking at the G15 for their wide sole to be more forgiving.

Is it worth me upgrading? I'm worried when I go practice at the range i'm wasting my time with clubs that are not my fit.

Thank you for your time.

The Ping Eye2's are great clubs, classics in my opinion. At a 28 handicap, your not wasting your time at the range hitting these. Any practice will improve your game. However, if you plan on taking up the game seriously and playing a lot, new clubs wouldn't be a bad idea. At your age, I would assume your done growing, and if you can afford it, why not? If you can't, there is no shame in playing an outdated set of clubs, but you may think about having some shaft extenders put in, its pretty cheap to do.
