lol, I dont think its the drill if I was flipping. I was more concerned about how my face angle looks a little closed at the top. But really though, this drill has helped put my swing together. I was hitting all tiny draws today without manipulating the face at all, it was nice- Im use to hitting pushes from coming off the wall, it just throws off my swing plane.

ps. I was going to include a video on here of that dome session I had today if it wasnt for that pro. That indoor dome was sweet, they use yellow balls so you can see the flight against the white dome, would of been cool to see on video

Just a quick word.   The chair should be angled at a forty five.  The part near the target should be away from your butt.....  \\\\\\\\                      The way you have it you limit the depth of your turn and give no room for the arms to work.  You are stuck and your right hip is in the way on the downswing..

Not sure if I totally agree with that. Your suggesting that on the butt line, your suppose to cross it on the downswing through impact and finish. I agree with maybe crossing it a bit at the finish but not impact. Here's a video of Mike Bennett doing the same drill.

Mott.    Check out hogan in this video.     Pause it right away, grab a pen and hold the tip of the pen at the back of the right buttock.  Press play.  Do you notice the pen ends up in the middle of the right hip at the top?   Then watch the downswing. Notice his left hip then clears way left of the starting line.  This is why you want the chair on a 45. \ Golfer . Ball Understand my diagram?  That view is looking down on the golfer if you were god.     This is a good drill to learn the depth  required  to have room for your arms to swing properly.  The right buttock does move toward the target like the videos above show but the key element they are missing is that the right buttock moves back and then toward the target.  This happens because the weight moves toward the right heel right away.  Then during the transition the left knee, left hip, and left shoulder turn away from the center clearing left in that order.    The footwork should feel as though both feet should roll toward the target and the weight then moving quickly into to the left heel.  you will notice hogans left big toe is up early in the downswing.   This tells you his weight is in the left heel.

Forgot to mention that this camera ngle is slightly behind him so it would show up even more from directly behind.

I put a pin on the back of his right buttock and he didnt cross that pin the entire swing. Did it on the first swing on the video

I did notice how much S&T; and Foleys swing methods are modeled after Ben Hogans swing. Mike and Andy should of made a name that was related to Ben Hogan for the swing if they had to make a name, Like the Hogan method or something.

If that is what you believe, good luck with your swing. Because I cannot help someone that denies the obvious.   By the way ST and tilt is based of of Morad and macs low flying wedge.

I know what your saying, but just not sure if I totally agree with it. To me people spin with their hips to much. I think a good way to do the drill is how clement and bennett are doing it.

btw, I was looking at this a little more. The camera is a little shaky but with a pin tip Hogan does more his right hip slightly further back than the original buttocks line on the backswing, I do this too in my swing. he then brings his left hip to that new line slides and finishes on that same new line. So it looks like the line moves back slightly and stays there. Not sure if I would want the chair at 45 degrees but just dont put your butt so close to the chair at address so you have room to bring the right hip back further and slide on that line. Of course your hips are going to open up on the downswing keeping the center of your hip in the same spot.

Anyone else want to comment on this? should it be at 45 degree angle?

    • It’s not live on free to air tv in the UK, and hasn’t been since 1995. ( I pay a subscription to Sky for generally good golf coverage). There are limited highlights on the BBC for some golf events, but that’s it. Are other/all PGA events on NBC?  Allowing ticket scalping is a systemic failure across sports and showbiz, which could be legislated against, but in the UK is not in any meaningful way. I don’t know much about the secondary market in the US or anti scalping measures.  Charging more to keep prices down is an interesting concept, in practice no doubt you are right even if It sounds a bit Catch 22  Do you think sports tickets and broadcast rights  should be sold on a purely capitalist basis, or is there an argument to say that some sports might benefit more from wider exposure and affordable access. ( golf in the US is apparently not one of these if tickets sold out at those prices so quickly)  Fans might benefit from cheaper tickets and in the UK at least, TV coverage that reaches a wider audience.
