Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.

I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.

Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.

I've heard it from other shaft designers and things, though. So I thought the same thing, but… then got over it because, you know, I'm not 16. Or 26. 🙂

It's not really their term, and… shaft companies might have it figured out, but how do you do this in a fitting if you can't measure the grip speed and the head speed and so on? You need ENSO or GEARS or something.

I think what they're going to do is run GEARS in club-only mode and almost definitively give you a shaft that works pretty much straightaway.

You'd be surprised.

And flex is often more about weight than I think you'd think, too.

You could probably do what Mizuno did and have that attachment to the golf shaft that measures how the golfer flexes the club. I am thinking you could probably place it at 3 spots. Just spitballing. Gears is probably the gold standard for this now.
