im saying that just because he buys a 4 wood doesnt mean he wont buy a new driver because the 4 wood definantly doesn't make the driver obsolete. i still bought and hit my brand new driver a good amount but i can see where your coming from because some of my best rounds are when i just hit my 4 wood instead of the driver. the second part was directed towards the thread starter saying that he should demo at least one or two 4 woods and 5 woods before making a final decision because golf is a personal sport and whats right for me might not be right for you.

In my earlier post, I didn't mean my old driver was obsolete because the new 3w replaced it. What I meant was, if a new 3-wood was as long as my old driver (there was barely a yardage gap from new 3w to old driver) how long would a new driver be? I couldn't stop thinking about it.

oh that does make sense. iv bought my new driver and i like it. at first it was a little bit harder to hit but now im hitting it so far and theres a 30 yard gap between my 4w and driver
