I've been playing for 8 or 9 years now. I improved pretty rapidly not being able to break 100 to in about 2 years to pretty consistantly shooting in the high 80s. To the point:

I haven't improved in 2 years. 2 years ago I shot my career low of 75, got my index down to an 8 flat, I had a torn minigus at that time and played better golf than I do now. I don't play as much as I used too but I'd I like to play well when I do play. I am longer off the tee now and with my irons, in better shape than I have ever been, but I am just not playing well. I know I need a video camera to see what is going on, I know my alignement isn't consistant, but frankly I am time and financially restrained. I had a couple of good rounds but most of them this year have been really pretty bad.

Any suggestions on how to play well if you are only playing once or twice a week? I plan on going to the range tomorrow and see if I can get my alignment fixed. I'm not hitting the ball bad but my bad ones are really bad. I just loose focus.

If you get a chance to since you can't play more than 1/2 times a week...if you have a yard or park near you, i'd suggest working on short game...since that's where most of your saves/scoring comes from. stop by a muni on the way home from work and putt for a half hour...15 minutes lags, 15 minutes 15 feet and in...use a mirror at home and take swings...focus on fundamentals...get foam balls, put up a sheet infront of a closet/basement and hit into it...

Practice at home every day. You can putt for a few minutes at home so your putting stroke is always fresh. You can chip at home, too, and pitch with plastic balls (hang up a sheet or a mattress pad) to keep those strokes fresh. Concentrate on every shot you make during these practice sessions. Get full value out of each one. That will help you learn to keep your focus.
