Hey looking for a nice golf course to hit up before my brother's wedding.

My Clubs:

Toronto's a pretty big Metropolitan area... in which city/town does your brother live...

My must plays whenever I visit my parents in Toronto

1) Glen Abbey Golf Club, Oakville (public)
2) Angus Glenn Golf Club, South Course, Markham (public)
3) St. Georges G&CC;, Toronto (private)
4) The National Golf Club, Woodbridge (private)
5) Whirlpool Golf Club, Niagara on the Lake, (public)

There are literally 200-300 of courses in the area... these are my favs... and definitely worth the drive, fees, or knowing someone who can arrange for you to get on

Cheers, Allan

My bro lives downtown, but i mean the 10 people that will come in to play are gonna be from all over

There's only a couple of decent courses that aren't too far from downtown, and public.

1) Royal Woodbine Golf Club I played here a couple of times, not too bad... a little slow but the couse is always in good shape.

2) Copper Creek Golf Club I've never played here, but a few friends have, and rave about it.

I'm not sure of the level of everyone involved, you'll have to assess that otherwise just pick a local muni or go further out to a course like Lakeview Golf Course that can accomodate and will be easier for all levels.

Cheers, Allan

i'm probably the best out of the group, couple others are decent and the rest are all over the place but they just enjoy being out drinking and getting a few good shots a day.
I like playing hard courses, its a challenge. its not fun when there arent any risk reward choices. Like when you can just pull out your drive on every hole and not even worry if you're in the rough or not

Maybe a muni course would be better or something
I dont think a lot of people would want to pay 120+ + cart for a round of golf when they arent too godo

Lakeview is a "muni"... might be your best bet. Historical parkland style course, not really any forced carries, good for all levels of golfer and it certainly is one of the better values in the GTA

I know a nice course if you're willing to go to Uxbridge:

Mill Run Golf Club: I've been here many times. It's superb, and not too pricy.

I know a bit more north of Toronto. Let me know if you're interesting in hearing them.

What about Cardinal golf club?

Yeah that's also a pretty nice one too. They've got a beautiful clubhouse, and I think they just recently added another 18 or 9 holes.

The golf cart rates as well as the carts itself are also pretty swell, with the GPS ans all.

Hmmm Don Valley. I haven't heard too much about it, other than the fact that part of the course goes under Hwy 401. Sorry.

Don Valley is a short but fun course. The conditioning can be hit and miss and the final five holes are a bit quirky for my liking. However it might be a decent option for your higher handicappers. Reservations can only be made 5 days (or maybe it's 7 now) in advance and will book up very quickly.

The new course at Cardinal (Redcrest) has some great holes on the front nine and some reasonable twilight deals occasionally.

I would also suggest looking at the Durham region northeast of the city....TONS of great options if you don't mind a 45-60 minute drive from downtown.

Yup, there are a lot more courses north of TO

P.S. Ninja15, do you know what the rates are at don valley?
