Some good points in this thread. I'd say playing with a mulligan even if you don't take it changes your score. It's like a security blanket. You can swing for the fences, take risks you wouldn't otherwise take etc... A lot of people do it though when they first start golfing. I think as soon as you start using the words handicap or score you should no longer be using the word mulligan.

It is funny though for some people it's simply too painful to have to take penalty shots off the tee. I have a buddy that will just kind of break down, mumble some crap and just kind of give up after hitting a shot (or two) OB. I've also played with people that are in complete disbelief that you have to take shot 3 from the tee box, "What do you mean!?, I've only hit one shot, *HIT* OK, that ones out too. What shot is this now?! FIVE! ARGUGH.." :)

I played with two nice guys yesterday and we all shot poorly. The majority of their 2nd shots were from the WRONG fairway.

I shot a 100 and asked them "what did you guys shoot?"... They both said 81.  LOL- I think they don't count all the "nevermind, I'll drop a ball here" strokes. WOW>

I put Adams and PING in my OGIO Recoil bag. I'm shooting for the low 90's by summer 13'

You could always try and call them up on it in a friendly manner as opposed to an aggressive one. It could easily be a genuine mistake as people do try to put bad shots to the back of their mind. If they continue then your best bet is to probably avoid playing with them in the future.

    • I never heard dislike for them.  From my perspective, they are just like any other club. Though, they were always probably over-priced, until recently as other club manufacturers have been raising prices the past 5+ years. You had to wait for them to go on sale, which you can get them closer to other club manufacturers.  They sell good clubs. Nothing crazy..
    • Why do so many people dislike PXG clubs and constantly criticize them? All the folks at my club and especially online, I never hear good things about them except from people who bought them and defend them. They look fine to me but curious is there some sort of quality issue or is it just stereotyping the buyers.
    • I have the LM1 launch monitor and I’ve been very impressed. I agree with your assessment and it’s very accurate for me and ease of use is wonderful. The price point of $199 is very hard to beat with this form factor and performance. I was previously using a PRGR.
