Weird first round

After five rainouts in May, finally got out Friday for my first solo 18 holes. Had played 9 holes and also a scramble, but have had trouble getting that first full round.

Talk about a weird round : Hit zero greens in regulation, but still shot 89 (par 71). Carded a birdie and three pars against a triple bogie and three doubles.

Had:
* Four penalty strokes (an OB, and both a left and right lateral water hazard off the tee).
* 30 putts - including one 3-putt.
* Hit 57% of fairways, but no GIR. Solid iron shots flew the greens, and not-so-solid ones came up short right. Greens very small on this course + strong winds that day.
* Final hole birdie. Put approach shot on back fringe-rough line, and somehow rolled in a "Texas wedge" putt from 24 feet. Ping Pal is super for grass-behind putts.

I wonder what comes up next time?

i hit one fairway at baltusrol and shot an 87...lol, indeed...weird
