Hi guys (and gals)...

For the last few years, I've been playing Nike Slingshot irons (5 - SW) and the only wedges I've got in my bag are the wedges that came with the set (46 degree PW and 56 degree SW). After approximately 100 rounds and too-numerous-to-count visits to the range... the grooves on those wedges are pretty much shot, especially in the middle where the majority of contact is (I still manage to hits some off the toe and some off the heel now and again). Being rather, ummm... frugal, I've continued to hit them knowing I had to replace them. I figured that on my limited budged, I'd rather spend the $80 - $120 on a round or two of golf than on a single club.

Last night, I saw an ad on the Golf Channel for Dicks Sporting Goods and their Golf-a-Thon II deals. One of the deals was 2 for $100 on the TaylorMade RAC Satin and Nickle wedges. On top of that, I had an old R540 driver sitting around that I needed to get rid of... so I brought that with me and traded it in AND I had a coupon for $15 off an order of $75 or more. I ended up picking up 2 of them today:

8 degree bounce - 52 degree wedge
12 degree bounce - 56 degree wedge

The total cost after the $16 trade-in credit for the R540 and the $15 coupon was $73.11 for both wedges. I took 'em to the range earlier and I LOVE them. I've still got my 46 degree pitching wedge in my bag because the grooves aren't AS bad as the 56 degree sand wedge was... so - I've now got three wedges in my bag for the first time ever.

What a difference hitting with fresh grooves. Even range rocks were hitting, bouncing once and sticking on astro-turf like greens.

Does anybody have any experience with these clubs? Good, bad or otherwise?

I'd love to hear opinions.
