After shooting a 99 on a par 70 shit course I realize that my straight draws and pulls are not keeping me in play. I know it doesn't help that i'm playing clubs that are a degree closed but ITS MY SWING!

I desperately need to learn to hit a cut shot to combat the hooks.

So remind me......

Start clubface where I want the ball to start and align my feet even more open than that?

I'm seriously not trying to be a smart ass with this comment, but why not start your shots more to the right and bring more of the fairway or green into play? A straight draw as a normal shot pattern isn't bad if you expect it and play for that shape. Aiming more right will let your natural shot pattern keep the ball in play and will also provide some cushion for those times when a hook appears.

keep in mind that I'm a lefty so with your advice I would aim more to the left, not to the right.

The reason I will no do that is it produces even more of a hook by aiming more to the left. To be clear these are hooks, not baby draws. They are going 10-20 yds off target. Close me off to the target more and it's going to be duck hook city.

Are you wanting to learn how to hit a fade or get rid of the hook. Two different things in my opinion. Can't really help you with getting rid of the hook, not very good at that stuff. But, in my opinion the easiest way to hit a fade or cut shot is to aim a little to the right. Take your normal stance, but open your club face up just a little bit and regrip. If you take a normal swing the ball should fade. Not sure if it will work for you because you are hitting hooks. Its something that I would go to the range and work on. Good luck!
