When a player has a tap-in but the horn sounds why not just let them tap the ball in? they spend longer than it would take for them to tap it in by just marking the ball so why not allow them to tap it in so they dont have to mark? seems daft to me

What would it help? A tap in is a tap in, regardless of being before or after a break. The rule is clear and cannot be mistaken. Where would you set the limit for a tap in? Should they bring a ruler to the course to measure if they are within the distance?

i guess youre right, its just i was watching the golf then and mickelson had probably about 2 or so feet left, he spent a good 5 minutes marking the ball/changing what to mark the ball with when im just thinking put the ball in the hole and when the delay is over go to the next hole instead of going back to that hole to tap-in, it just frustrates me but i guess you are right to be honest

First of all, he didn't spend 5 minutes.

Secondly, a 2 footer on those greens is not a tap in.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I believe the suspension of play policy on the Tour is that if players are in the process of playing a hole when play is suspended (the air horn blows), they shall discontinue play immediately. The penalty for not doing so is disqualification.
