hey guys

Lately I have been battling 2 different misses and it makes it hard to prepare for a misses.

The misses only occur with the driver, 3 wood and the hybrid. I have been hitting my irons the best I have ever hit them so I feel like if I could get off the tee consistently I could put up some low numbers.

First miss is this crazy pull hook. I can feel at impact my club head is so far closed and often times i hit it off the toe. The second miss is when trying to over compensate for the first miss I have a bit of a slice. I have been trying to over compensate and just hit a fade/slice but if I lose concentration for a second the pull hook comes around and im OB. I dont have a video of my young yet but i will work on getting one. Just looking to see if anyone has battled something like this and has some drills to get me back on track.

thanks for all the help

i had a crazy pull hook with my driver.. then i hit a demo day and the rep gave me the same club, with a heavier shaft..
voila.. same swing.. down the middle.. apparently the shaft was way too light, and i'm way ahead of myself with my arms.

with the heavier shaft, a natural swing, down the middle..
the only error i have now is when i revert back to ways of intentionally slowing my arms down (b/c of the old club problems).. but once i trust the club. it's all good

Sounds like you have a swing path issue. Your swing path seems to be out to in. When I battled those nasty pull hooks, I worked on getting my hips to slide more when I initiate my downswing. While I still hit the occassional pull hook, it's only about 10-15 yards left of where I'm aimed. Prior to that, I would pull it by as much as 50 yards to the left of my target. Just thinking of those shots make me shudder.

Swing path and club face I would say. Coming over the top with a square club face cause slice, over the top with closed club face cause pull hook.

Flipping the club can give lots of different impact positions and create various results.

A video would help.
