How do I slow down my hips..?

ive been slowing my hips down for a while now and the other day i made an adjustment and hit the ball better than i probably have ever hit the ball in my life.

i have also been working on not trapping the ball and taking smaller divots so this went along with it.

i kept my lower body totally still in my swing. i turned my shoulders back and let my lower body follow along naturally. then when i swung at the ball it was kind of like i was hitting plastic balls in my living room and i was trying not to hit the carpet too much. this made me keep my levels much better because my body was so much more quiet. i only had one bad shot (not counting short game) that i mis hit.
its kind of like when you try to hit a fairway wood clean off of the fairway, you take out some moving parts to get solid contact.
