Alright so i was testing drivers today and really liked the 907 d2, i had a real nice launch angle with it a t 14* or just under 14*. The only thing is the spin rate was way up there, it was a 9.5* with a stiff flex 65g proto vs shaft. So what could i change to that to lower the spin rate. More flexible shaft? Lighter/Heavier shaft? what usually effects spin rate? thanks guys and gals.

depends on your swing. In my case, getting a stiff shaft with higher kick point controled my back spin much more.

I'd say go get your shaft fitted and see what they recommend. I went with a Prolaunch Red stiff shaft and my ball flight looks much much better.

yeah i know fitting is the only true way, but i guess im really just asking what can commonly be done that would lower the spin rate.

I had a really high tradjectory and our local pro advised me to go with a MID KICK shaft instead of a low kick, I'm not sure what my launch angle numbers are but I now have a lot lower tradjectory and can shape shots a little easier too.

Basically, a higher kick, stiffer tip shaft will be lower spin. Also, the heavier shafts are generally going to be lower spin.

i used to have that driver and found it to be a spinny head
i put a Graphite Designs Aura RED Stiff shaft tipped 1/2" nd it was a BOMBER
i sold it to a buddy and let me tell you.....i have NEVER seen him hit it so far.....should have asked more i guess!!! hahahah!

Moving the CG closer to the face will lower spin rate.

Decreasing loft will lower the spin rate.

A shaft with a higher kick point (I may have that backwards but I think it's right) will lower the spin rate.

A lower spinning ball will lower the spin rate.
