Best place to have forged irons reconditioned?

At the end of this season, I'm going to send my MX-23's off to be reconditioned. I bought them used from a friend, and being forged, they are showing some pretty good wear, there's about a quarter sized spot on each of the faces where he was a much better ballstriker than I am and hit the ball in the exact same spot every time.. I love the clubs, and don't want anything else, and with the price he sold them to me for, and the way I hit them, I'd be willing to spend some money to have them dressed up and looking like new.

So is there anywhere you guys recommend for doing work like this?

Is it just a cosmetic thing for you, or do you think the wear affects how they play? I bought a used set of MX-23s as well with browning in the sweet spot of several of the irons, and I don't think it affects the play. I don't feel like spending the coin to get them refinished/refurbished.
