I have been searching high and low and finally found what I was looking for. I just purchased a set of (very) slightly used LH MP-60's. (3-PW) Also included in the deal were (3) MP T-Series Mizuno wedges. (I've hit the Irons and love 'em, no experience with the wedges though). Anyone care to comment on experience with the wedges?!? Purchase price - $625.00 shipped!

No doubt, They certainly have gotten of to a good start in the preseason. The Wild definitely has added some talent, but many other teams have re-tooled to some degree (and improved) in our conference as well.

Agree completely on the hockey note, but I was referring to this... http://golfthewilds.com/pay_temp.html check out the course layout... One of the nicer courses in the metro IMO

(My Bad). If I had the new sticks in hand, I might have braved this rain we're having today!

Yeah, it's nasty out there right now, winds blowing like crazy downtown.

I play out there at least once a year during play the temp, it's a great opportunity to play a 100.00 a round course for half of that (or less if you're really brave). I played it this summer on a gift certificate my wife gave me for Christmas, it's actually in much better shape this time of year. I'll be on that course at least twice more this season with a wedding party and then the standard play the temp outing... Great place, awesome breakfast in the clubhouse.

I personally like the MP-T series, but I just use the 51*. Not much bounce, but love it from about 110 and in on a full swing, feels very solid to me. My Clevelands seem to heavy on a full swing. Great deal BTW, congrats, you are going to love those irons...i do!!!!

Ditto what he says above!

I use the MP 52-07 gap wedge sometimes in the bag. I love it! I would rather knock down an 80 to 90 yard shot with it than hit a full swing Cleveland CG10 sand wedge in!

I too have played with the idea of switching to the MP60's! Let us know how they play as you go forward!!

Good Luck!!!

  • 2 weeks later...
I just picked up a used combo set of MP-60 / MP-32 with the project x shafts in 5.5, 2 degrees strong. Paid 650 for them on ebay. I was a bit nervous at first as to whether or not I would be able to hit them and the small clubhead can be intimidating. After 6 rounds or so I can say they are staying in the bag, I'm actually hitting more greens (my last clubs had too weak of a flex).

To the people who are interested in getting them I would highly recommend the clubs, the only thing is I can't hit the 3 iron for the life of me (the clubs are 2 degrees strong) but other then that I love them. The shaft and head combo really provide good feedback on my swing whether good or bad which I think is very helpful to improving your game.

As for wedges I'm a Cleveland guy, no changing that......

Thats too bad. Don't give up on them. I hit the three pretty well, and mine are two degrees strong too.

Played again yesterday with the MP60s (10th round). Im still as happy as ever. The feedback has easily made my game improve a shot or two. Now, if I could only capitalize with my putter.... Best of luck, keep us up to date on how you're doing.

    • I'm quoting myself, only because I want to link up to the relevant information from the Rules.  These are the current rules, but I don't think the 2016 version differed very much.  First is Rule 16.1, for relief form Abnormal Course Conditions.  A cart path is an Immoveable Obstruction, one of the four ACCs.   Others have quoted the provision that you can't take relief for an unreasonable stance or type of swing, it sounds like relief was appropriate in this case.  The Reference Point is the Nearest Point of Complete Relief, and a diagram is provided.  So we refer to the Definition of the Nearest Point of Complete Relief.  The NPCR allows relief from the cart path, for the type of swing the Player would have made if the cart path had not been there.  Specifically, the Definition says: "The nearest point of complete relief relates solely to the particular condition from which relief is being taken and may be in a location where there is interference by something else" So there might be interference from a tree or bush, a clear swing isn't guaranteed.  I'll go back to Clarification 16.1/1, which says that Relief from an ACC might result in better conditions, or worse conditions.  However, the NPCR for a ball in the General Area MUST be in the General Area (Rule 16.1b), its not in a Bunker of a Penalty Area.  That's not to say you might not have to stand in a Bunker or Penalty Area, just that the Ball won't be in it. You can find all of these on the Rules of Golf app on your phone, or on the USGA's webpage: https://www.usga.org/rules/rules-and-clarifications/rules-and-clarifications.html#section=rules&itemNum=19&subItemNum=1
    • Maybe they wouldnt be tearing them up if shots that  miss the green or fairway were penalized with deep rough
