'09 Cleveland Launcher Driver

This is kind of a review and a surprise for me. I stopped by my Puetz golf store because of the usual 4th of July tent sales these places always have. In need of a driver, and this being my first driver, I wasn't planning on spending a whole lot(under $100). I found a couple bins, one with last years Nike's which I have hit before, but wasn't super excited about, and the other had Cleveland's in it. Both marked at $119ea, so my interest was sparked. I ended up buying the Cleveland Launcher without hitting it as I had my daughter with me. I drove to my local driving range and OMG...

I picked up my first club in late February and couldn't hit squat very well, or straight. After alot of practice, I started hitting pretty straight with the ocassional slice when I don't pay attention. But I hadn't hit a driver very well at all. This driver put me on cloud 9 for the rest of the night!! I was hitting it over the fence that was at 250 yards. I couldn't believe it. It, might have been just a really good day, but I was very impressed by this driver.

Anyone else have any stories on how there new equipment amazed them when they bought it?

      Day 118: 4/23/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 2/24. Finished 1 mph over last session but 4 mph slower than the preceding program.

      Hitting some good shots on my golf trip. It's good I can tell when I hit better shots the way I want to swing the ball versus when I use an older swing. Shockingly, the short game has been at worst, not harmful to my game. I am using similar feels to the full swing, in that I try to get my hands down. I've been nipping the ball clean off the turf.

      I was laid off two months ago. Good severance, a 90 day layoff announcement regulation the company wanted to avoid so technically I'm still on the payroll for a few weeks, and a bunch of banked PTO, so I'm in a great spot and working on a startup idea I've been batting around with my brother for a while. That means I've got time to get to the gym! I'm at like 60-75 minutes 5x a week of strength training, and either a run or a bunch of time playing soccer or tennis with my daughter on the weekends. Stronger than I've been in forever. Up ~5 pounds of (noticeable!) muscle!

      Day 539, April 23, 2024 Mirror work once again. When I get back to swings, I'll just do it A. LOT.
