Hi,
Looking to purchase my first hybrid. I've been leaning towards finding a slightly used Taylormade Rescue 2009 3H. I haven't been able to find one in my price range however. I'm looking for opinions on any that come close to this club? I have hit this one in the store and it felt great. I'm looking for a club that is pretty forgiving and easy to hit. Thanks for any advice!

cool! Ill have to look into them. How do folks like Nickent? I have heard a lot of great things and see that they are very affordable to pick up.

Many hybrids look very different and I think the Nickent design is one of the best.

well just bit the bullet and ordered a new 3dx rc #4 from Rockbottomgolf for only $30 bucks. Feels like a bargain. Have read some great things. Now looking for a cheap 4dx to compliment my 3 iron . Is there a big difference in the 3dx vs 4dx? Can't wait to get my clubs!

I have a 4dx 17* 2H and a 3dx 20* 3H. Love them both. I've been using the 4dx 2H off the tee when I need accuracy and it's delivered. Both also hit nicely off the fairway...also have been useful for punch shots out of the rough or other trouble when the ball is sitting up a bit. The online consensus is the 3dx is easier to get airborne for high handicappers, but I haven't had trouble with either. Twice in the past week I've taken an easy swing with the 3dx 3H and wound up with a shot straight at the flag and within 12 feet from ~180 out for nice birdie opportunities.

Awesome..that makes me feel better about the 3dx purchase. I still have a bid out on a 4dx as well. I plan to use both to replace my long irons. I have always had trouble hitting those accurately. I wish the UPS would hurry on up

You simply can't go wrong buying any club from Nickent. Especially for the price...

I hope so! Just won a bid on another Nickent (4dx 3H) last night for $26! Very excited to try these out after all the good things I've read.

just got the 3dx delivered and promptly headed over to the driving range. Man ..this thing is sweet! Really easy to hit and tons of distance. Best of all I'm hitting it straighter than I have ever before. Can't beat this thing for $30! Looking forwarding to receiving my 4DX later this week. Thanks for all those that suggested these clubs..advice was dead on.

    • On my trip at Bandon. I have a couple of best shots come to mind. I had kind of a stupidly good short game shot out of some nasty stuff. I didn't really make any bombs putting.  I could say any drive I hit straight that was hitting directly into the wind, lol. That was nasty. I literally hit a ball like 150 yards right. I am going with my drive on hole 18 at Old MacDonald. 469 yard par 4, down wind. The narrowest fairway on the course, and you have to navigate two sets of bunkers. I stripe one down the middle, catch the slope and have to roll out to about 95 yards to the pin. So yea, that 370-ish drive in the fairway on a 469 par 4 wins the shot of the week.
    • Day 2: mirror work while watching some TV. Checking on some backswing stuff primarily - making sure I’m still steep enough in the backswing.
    • Day 88 (28 Jul 25) - Short session this afternoon after a full day of yard work at the house.  Worked on setup and tempo thru the shot with the 52° wedge in the backyard.  Hit about 20 balls total - just staying focused on the process.
    • Day 10: More putting with the metronome. Short putts feel really slow and long putts feel really fast. Getting more comfortable every day.
    • Day 301 - 2025-07-28 Watched a lot of golf today at Fox Chapel, but then came home and did some mirror work. Re-dedicated. Which is saying something, as I've been playing okay. But relying on my athleticism to just do "okay."
