I have an old TaylorMade R580 10.5° Driver with the stock M.A.S.² 60 Stiff shaft. Recently, when I got the rest of my clubs re-gripped with Winn grips, the guy told me that he couldn't put Winn grips on this club because it had a "Bubble" shaft.

Now, my recollection of "Bubble" shafts were the old copper colored shafts with the visible bulge just under the grip. Is there some kind of "bubble" at the heel of the shaft? If so, can it be cut off? I'm kind of leaning toward getting the shaft cut down anyway, so if I did, would this enable me to have a Winn grip put on so that it feels like all of my other clubs in my hands?

And yes... I'd love to be able to afford a new driver or get this one re-shafted, but I can't afford either of those options right now.
