I cant say if they have or not, but i just bought a set of eye 2's a few weeks ago and my serial number was six numbers and then a letter. I contacted PING to verify their authenticity and they checked out according to them. If you have any doubts contact PING. Their customer service is second to none.

Yep, call their customer service. IIRC, my PING Eye-2's have a 5 digit serial so a 4 digit is not out of the question.

what about G5 irons?? i have a g5 3 iron that has the serial number stamped into the hosel(little dots from a stencil)... the 4-pw set i have has the serial numbers etched in there... almost laser-like.

which is the way ping really marks their irons serial numbers??

The serial numbers on my old i3s were done in the same manner. Ditto my M/B wedges and my G2 irons. They appeared to have been stamped in on a set of Eye 2s that I used to own. My theory is that sometime late in the production of the Eye 2s or at the introduction of the i3s the company changed its method of inscribing serial numbers on its clubs.

As old as those clubs are I think you should look again, the serial number should be 0001....See ya next Saturday. : )

Can someone please look up these serial numbers? These are I3 OS. # 116719N

Just contact Ping (

http://www.ping.com/about/contactus.aspx ) with the serial number and they'll let you know.

Thanks. I was just wondering if anybody could verify these. The PING customer service is only open M-F and I was needing an answer by tomorrow. Thanks

Yeah... sorry... As far as I know, PING is the only ones that can verify them.

Some retailers like Golf Galaxy have access to Ping's database anytime.
