My wife loves to golf and has gotten a ton better in the past 3 years, so I'd like to buy her some new sticks. Her current sticks are complete garbage. Does anyone out there have some recommendations? Any women on this forum wanna chime in? She has above average club head speed and has no problem getting the ball in the air. We will be going to test out some clubs in the next couples weeks, but figured I'd see if I could get some feedback off this forum as well.

Thanks in advance!

There is a womans golf clinic every saturday at the golf club I play at, most of the clubs I see are.
1.Titelist Ap2
2.Cleveland Bloom
3.Titelist Ap1

Any of those clubs would be fantasic, I would think!

The most commen drivers would be:

1. Taylormade Burner
2. Cleveland Bloom

Most of the clubs out there today are great! Just get what she likes.

Ping has a new line of clubs that are very forgiving, if you don't mind spending some cash. They have the new K drivers and the Rhapsody line for women. Also, a female friend of mine loves the Titleist AP1's, but I would stay away from the AP2 set unless she shoots in the 80s.

My wife started golfing about 6 months ago. She got the addiction hard and decided to buy a nice set of clubs she could use for many years instead of starting off with a cheap set. Anyway, she got a set of the Taylormade Burners, which included a hybrid 4 and 5. She also bought the burner driver and 3-wood. She plays very well with them and is nothing but pleased with the Burners!

I actually play women's clubs as I am short 5' 3" and have a slower clubhead speed (about 85mph-ish) so instead of buying mens club and having to pay roughly $13 per club to have them all cut down I opted for the ladies.
Also I was on a budget so last summer I bought a complete set of Maxfli's called "Fire" at Dicks for about $299 on sale. Not a bad price for Driver, 3W, 5w, 4h, 5h, 6 through SW....except for they are complete garbage. Sad part is I really hit them well at the store and on the course. But after only a year the graphite shaft on the SW broke on me at the range...Hit the ball awesome and at the top of my follow-through I hear...crunch as the graphite broke right in-between where my hands meet on the grip. The 6 iron is worthless as it's more of a full back-utility club for punching out from behind trees so I had to replace that club because it was unhittable off the tee or ground. Also the finish was very bad on them. Wore off real quick as the clubs rattled around in my bag. Only redeeming factor was the driver it came with (Square head with an Adila shaft) which i actually hit well. I went from averaging about 210 with my old driver to 250+ on good days with this club.

So long story short, I'd stay away from the Maxfli clubs. Also Slazenger (as they are pretty much the same clubs) ...as they are both owned by Dicks.

FYI...rockbottomgolf.com usually has some killer deals on Ladies Nike Slingshots. If I would have seen those a year ago that is the route I would have went. Or tried to find some year old Taylor Made R7's.

I think next summer I am going to save my money and get some men's clubs built for me at Gigagolf.com. This way I get the right flex and lie for my height and swing speed. I think the ladies flex is probably a bit too flexy for me.

Just bought my wife the callaway diablos, she tried them at a callaway fitting. She too has a nice swing and can get the ball in the air, she really likes them. They were an upgrade from her previous callaway big berthas.

How tall is your wife? If she's 5-foot-2 or less in height, she might want to take a look at petite women's clubs. The shaft is about an inch shorter in length than normal, tweaked so it's not too stiff, and a flatter lie.

Several of the club makers offer a petite model.

Good advice. My wife is actually 5'8" though. So far, I have shown her the Taylor Made Burner's & some Callaway's. I'm gonna have her try the Adams as well.

Thanks for all the responses. Keep'em coming if you've got'em.

My wife loved the Ping Rhapsody set when we were looking for new clubs for her. She eventually went with the Adams A4OS which she hits pretty well.

Yes, do what I did and give your current clubs to your wife and get yourself a new set (tada, two birds with one stone!). I had a set of Taylormade R7's and she loved the way they felt, so I went with her to golf store to them measured up for her, and to my luck, nothing had to change on the clubs (helps that she's 5'10" to my 6'2" frame). She took those irons and I got myself fitted for new ones. Problem solved!!! :)

If she is 5' 8" my guess is she will need a longer shaft than a standard women's club. Like I said I am 5' 3" d play ladies length shafts cause they are 1" shorter than mens clubs. My brother is about 5' 9" and when he swings my clubs he has to bend over real far.

Another great idea...however, there is no way I'm giving her my Nike Blades.

My wife just started two months ago. She decided that Callaway was the only way to go. So we bought her some Callaway Solaire's. It comes as a set. A 460 cc driver , a 5 wood , a 6 and 7 hybrid , an 8 iron , PW and SW. A putter and really good looking bag. She has never played golf so I told her once I spend the money then your now a dedicated golfer! Anyway she loves them. First month and a half spent at the driving range. Then went and played 9 holes and scored a 55. She's hooked. First hole was for par. Now she asks me if were going golfing after work. So I would suggest the Solair'es.
