Hello all:
Long time lurker - first time poster - love the equipment forums and have learned a lot.

As I have just got back into the game after about a 4 year hiatus, I have spent this summer compiling my set of clubs again.

So far Nickent 3dx (red) $149 buy it now - ebay (steal)
Cobra sz 3 and 5
Odyssey 3300

The Adams Watson wedges had caught my eye at GolfGalaxy where I may be close to having my own coffee mug by the way - LOL. I liked the look and price but am not the guy who buys anything thats 3/$99 because its a good deal - I want quality too. After about a month of research and waffling on spending good money on wedges, I sheepishly questioned my helper at the store about the Waston wedges. He said that for the price - unless I'm Tiger - I would be very pleased with them.

Now I'm no expert but these things play pretty damn good. I'm most likely not going to backspin them 4 feet - but probably couldnt with a $120 Cleveland anyway. I changed out the grips and felt confidence with these things immediately. I like the gunmetal finish which I hope doesnt break down and rust too quickly - but if they do - for that price, I will just buy another set.

Just wondering if any others have felt the same way about these ???

See my signature. I have used a lob wedge for several years. I did have to bend it a little upright. For me the spin is predictable which is what really matters. The finish has held up well, right in the center of the club face it has worn off, but it is not raw metal underneath anyway.

1W Cleveland LauncherComp 10.5, 3W Touredge Exotics 15 deg.,FY Wilson 19.5 degree
4 and 5H, 6I-GW Callaway Razr, SW, LW Cleveland Cg-14, Putter Taylor Made Suzuka, Ball, Srixon XV Yellow

    • You could make this a whole thread for your Bandon stuff. LMK if you want it renamed. Looking forward to seeing the photos and reading!
    • Day 81 (21 July 25) - Soft hands drill work today w/9i in the backyard.  Focused on keeping the hands quiet and getting a nice hop and roll.  Kept shots to about 20 yds or less.
    • 39/39/78 for an 8.7 differential. Ball striking was good. Putting and chipping was off just enough to prevent a very good score.
    • Worst thing on Sunday was that NBC and Peacock wouldn't let me FF through the commercials on my DVR recording. Very boring when a guy has a huge lead on the final round and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. At least it was USA 1-2-3 in the end.
    • First day of a trip to Bandon Dunes. We played Sheep Ranch today. A Coore/Crenshaw designed course. A par 34 on the front and 38 on the back. With 8 holes with either a green, tee box, or the hole runs along the edge of the bluffs at the pacific. It has amazing vistas. With wide fairways and intermixed gorse bushes. The defense of the course are its large, undulated greens and the daily winds from the north. Many times you need to take 3-4 clubs more, if you even barely cross the wind, your ball can be taken offline or come up half to a full club short. A fantastic layout.    here are some photos.
