Hi guys, I try not to post too many threads but I need some help with this.
I asked my local pro if he thought my putter was too small and he immediately said yes. It turns out i need a 35.5 inch putter, compared to the several 34 inch putters i have at the moment. I plan on getting 1 of them lengthened to see how it goes. If I put an extra 1.5 inches on my putter, would the swing weight change noticeably, and if so, how would i go about changing the swing weight back normal?
I figure this is probably one of the best places to ask this question, because my local pro is awkward to communicate with and his humour is as dry as the Sahara.

Thanks :)

And if it helps at all, I have an Odyssey fang putter, my putter in my signature, and posssibly a rife aussie tour black if I can win the item later today.

Lengthening will make the putter feel heavier. To get it back to normal and still have the additional 1.5'' you would need to either 1) get lighter removable weights if the putter has them. or 2) Grind some weight off.

I lengthen my SC to 34.5 and like it. Cameron's are meant for somewhat faster greens, like what the pros play on. Around here I felt like I had to blast my putts to get them to the hole, with the addition it made it more comfortable to me. SC's have removable weights on the bottom, so if I wanted to get it back to its normal swing weight, I would just have to send it in and let them put in lighter weights. If your putter doesn't, I guess grind some off IF it makes that big of a deal to you. GL!

So could i not add some weight somewhere near the grip? It would make the total weight more, but would it offset the increased swing weight?

Yes, you could use counter weights in the grip end. There are also adjustable shaft weights that can be locked in place down inside shaft, up near the grip area as well.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on putting a midsize grip on it - would that slightly offset the swingweight change?

I think it would need to be heavier than just increasing the grip size, but I'm not sure, I don't know much about counter weights.

So I had it lengthened and regripped, and I notice a difference in the swing weight. But I think it is worth having a putter that fits, just so your mind never thinks that perhaps you missed a putt due to being to crouched ect.
