Played True Blue last year - it was worth it. We may look at Caledonia next year if we do a 'South Myrtle' course trip. People tell me Long Bay is very nice as well. Any feedback on Long Bay and Pawleys Plantation (both Nicklaus courses)?

Long Bay and Pawleys are very nice courses with Pawleys being slightly better. If you're considering a "South Myrtle Beach" trip, courses to seriously consider would be:

Caledonia, True Blue, Pawleys, Heritage, Tradition and if you want some pretty darn good warm up courses, try River Club, Wachesaw East and Willbrook.

Played Long Bay in Oct. and the greens kicked my butt.Very undulated and fast for bermuda. It is allways in good shape except when they are overseeding so check that out ahead of trip.If you want south Iagree with the Tru Blue-Caledonia 36 and Heritage which has the toughest back 9 in all of Myrtle.Did not care for Pawleys and be carefull of the conditions at Watchesaw east.

I know this is old, but FWIW, my wife and I have a place at True Blue and get down there about once every 4 - 6 weeks. Let me know when any of you are heading down to the south Strand and if the schedules match up, we'll play True Blue, Caledonia or Tradition 1/2 price.

I have a place at Wild Wing so we can tee it up after the new year.
