I haven't measured the hosel of my old steel shafted 5w yet so this may be a moot point, but... Can I put a driver shaft in a 5w head and trim it to length?

I loaned a driver to a friend. Almost two years later I got it back, and the driver head is all dented and dinged up. Note to self: don't let anyone else hit your clubs! EVER!!! It's not a great loss or anything, the driver was a Maxfli Crossbax that I never really liked anyway. Not to mention that I have changed drivers three times since then. But I digress.

The destroyed driver had an Aldilla ProtoByYou stiff shaft in it that I have since removed. If it will fit, should I put it in the 5w head? I kind of need a 5w back in the bag anyway.

As long as the tip fits you should be fine. Just cut it down (from the grip end) to what a 5 Wood is supposed to be.
