Well I was going to try out my new to me (Im cheap OK) iron set and some soft Nike balls last night, so I waited till about 6:02 so I got the discount of fee of 19.00 from 36.00 for 18 with a cart at Beacon Lakes and finished about 9:55 with a group of turtles in front of us. I was planing on playing on my own but they paired me with two other guys that were pretty good but easy going. I hit all but three fairways (my fairways, I always hit one but not always mine) and the bad shots were in play from our side. I started with one ball and finished with it that was a first for me as well.

I ended up with 89 I couldn't believe it when I added it up I have only shot in the mid 90s a couple of times I am most days in the low 100s or high 90s so I was pretty pumped up. I am going to either Beacon or Texas City this afternoon to see how big a fluke it was. But I can say that "one day I did good" now.

Good job. When you are hitting most fairways and putting your approach shots near the green, you'd be surprised how reasonably easy it is to play bogey golf.

I felt good till I went to a different course yesterday and was back to the high 90s. I could wine and say it was the wind or the greens were bad etc but I was just bad. I did sink about a 25 foot put on 18 that's why I'm going tonight to play 9

    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
