I have been golfing for about 1.5 years now. Picked up the game pretty quick, but i think its time that i get some opinions on what is wrong with my swing. I want to get the perfect swing and tempo. Here are a few videos that were taken on Monday. I was right about 160-165, and it was a little uphill so I chose a smooth 7 iron. My clubs are taylormade rac mb's. When I misshit a ball it tends or almost always a little fat. My divot also tends to be outside in, which usually produces a little cut. Anyways thanks for the help in advance!

dude... you've never taken a lesson, have you? man, aside from some little things, i wouldn't change much at all. especially if you've already gotten down to a single digit hcp after playing for less than two years. loads of guys/gals have been playing for decades and haven't broken 90.

first of all, i really like your hip action, it goes quickly left leaving lots of time and room for your club to go down and through. i see you open up and play a bit of a natural fade, don't change that or let anybody talk you into doing it. but, you might want to work on putting the ball a little back and hitting some draws for when the shot calls for it.

what i would experiment with if i were you. 1. a narrower iron stance, allows for more power and balance, with equals more efficient shots. actually, that's pretty much it. you've got a great swing, imho.

Sounds like you've gotten as far as you can with your natural swing. You basically have two choices here.
Choice #1 Really focus on your short game--I did this by only keeping my wedges and putter in my car for six months and just practicing short game.

Choice #2 Make some changes to your swing--this might not be too painful, considering that you've only been playing for a couple of years. I see you've set the bar high with "perfect" swing and tempo.

Here's what I recommend as far as your swing:

Address: stance a bit narrower with the irons. hands more in front of ball at address--this will take some of the cupping out of your left wrist at address. Grip looks good.

Backswing: You do a lot of things well here. Your have a tendancy to bring the club head inside too quickly on some swings, then lift up at the top. Work on deeper hands http://thesandtrap.com/forum/entries...ands-Explained http://forum.thegolfevolution.com/th...117-Deep-Hands Also, try keeping the left arm a bit straighter.

Forward swing: By getting your hands in a deeper position, your forward swing won't be as steep or OTT. You do a good job of keeping your weight centered on the back swing and shifting it forward on the downswing--you can see this by how much weight is on the outside of your left foot at impact.

Thanks alot for the help, I have not ever had a lesson, just hours and hours of youtube and reading. Then plenty more hours on the range.I am heading up to the range/course to get a quick 9 in now. I am going to work on a few of the suggestions. Def. need to move the ball back in the stance, also going to try to get my hands deeper, though that one might take a lot of reps to get the "feel". Thanks alot for the help, it is greatly appreciated!

    • Day 133 (25 Apr 24) - Worked with the Divot Board today added a piece of cardboad behind the ball to help reinforce ball first contact. Contact improved through the round.   Added grandson's football goal posts about 10yds out to add a good start line visual Good session today.
    • Day 120: 4/25/24 Full Speed Spectrum training session. Low energy today and my speed was lower than normal. Will see what I can do on Saturday.
    • Day 541, April 25, 2024 Ten minutes after lessons. Still not caught up, but should be by tomorrow evening.
    • Playing irons only may lead to some short-term gains, but you'll want to at least practice with the driver if you ultimately have some decently good goals.
    • He plays from 68.3 / 124.  A combo tee setup of normal mens and seniors.   I play from 69.7/127.   He left after taking a triple on 14 and then leaving.  Which plays to what I think his plan is,   He doesn’t stroke on 14 but would have to take bogey for non completed holes on the way in.   Maybe that’s giving him too much credit, but he found a way to add 4 shots to his score over three holes so….     I looked up his last 20 rounds in GHIN and he has a lot of rounds at easier courses (rating and slope) that are higher than his normal rounds at home.   Since I mostly have his front nine score during the match (36) to go on, he has three nine hole scores at our course posted that are 41-43. I wrote the whole thing up to the head of our golf association who runs all the tournaments.  Our pro is not involved officially in the tournaments because the golf associations are separate from the club.   He’s pretty well known for this, however I was pretty shocked at how well he played carrying a 15.   I think eventually they will do something, a lot of people have complained.  The golf association threw someone out a couple of years ago and it was a three month situation where the guy retaliated.  They probably are hesitant to go thru anything like that again.  That is a rather crazy story I might post about later.
