Taylormade Burner Superfast's shaft named Matrix Xcon 4.8 claims to have 48 grams of weight. Is this true? Cause I just read somewhere it actually weights almost 60 g.

For Superfast owners, do you feel this shaft too light?

I've got the CGB Max woods which are supposed to have 45 gram shafts. They are very light and I am working on either getting heavier shafts or newer wood. If me tempo is fast at all, I have control issues.

It wasn't too light for me, but it felt like garbage. If anything, it was too long for me. Recently traded in the SF for a ST and it's much better so far.

I am sure you know that clubs, shafts, grip are truly just personal likes you derive from hitting them (preferably on a launch monitor). Having said that, I am 5'10", 180lbs, 66 years old with a 13 club handicap. I recently traded my cobra S2 driver, 3w and 5w off for the new Rocketball driver, and the Taylormade 2.0 3w, 5w, and 3h. I averaged only 200-206 with the Cobra S2 driver and around 165-170 with the S2 3w. I am now averaging 230 with the RBZ driver (xcon 5 shaft) and 180-190 with the superfast 2.0 3w and all are straight as an arrow. The Taylormade 2.0 3w, 5w and 3h all have the xcon 4.8 shafts and all I can say is, I wish I had bought them a long time ago. Hit em long and straight.

Everywhere I look the shaft is under 51 grams, accept the one guy in the one forum who says he took one off, weighed it, and came up with almost 60g lol. Is that the same thing you read? I always see the weight as 45-51 grams depending on what club the shaft is on, driver, 3w, 5w, 3hyb ext.

I have a couple superfast clubs with the shaft in question, and plan on replacing my nike driver with a Taylormade driver sporting this shaft. I'm guessing the shaft doesn't exceed 51grams but I'm inexperienced, who knows lol. Since I have clubs with these shafts I'll look around a bit more to see if I read anything different.

Sincerely, Jim

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
