Did I say I really like the feel of inserts?

I guess I inferred it from the fact that you were bragging on the Nike's feel and compared it to an insert.

I like my Nike putter, and I play it because I got it for next to nothing, but I'd really like an Odyssey White Ice #1, based on trying them at Dick's the other day.

Try a Rife Antigua before buying a putter. Best putter I have ever used. Read up on the "roll face technology" on the Rife website. These things are the real deal. Got a few Scottys, a Bettinardi, Ody, etc.. in the closet to prove it.

Bad News:
Went to buy the putter at Golfsmith because I have a gift card for there from trade-ins, and all they had where the ones that were out on the demo rack. I figued, if I'm gonna spend $250 on a putter, I want a brand new one with the factory plastic and everything on it. Propaby going to order it from there tomorrow or so, hopefully have it by the end of the week...
to danattherock, I tried some of the Rife putters at another golf store and they felt good, but I found the distance control somewht iffy. Found the Method more consistent as far as the distance goes, and the Method felt softer than the Rife.
I'll propably have the loft adjusted so that I can have some foward shaft lean, which I prefer and have always done, because if I lean the shaft foward, I find I hit the topline of the putter more than where my moneys going (the grooves).
Just saying....

Thanks
I looked all over, and I only found one online store thing with it for like 230.....I'd rather pay 20 bucks more to be sure I'm getting what I'm paying for and to get the Golfsmith Playability Guarantee (one of the main reasons I want to buy it fomr there)

    • Because of the 68.4-72 part. If he shoots 10 over par (his course handicap), he will have shot his index. You don't factor par in when you calculate the differential, but you do when you calculate the course handicap. That's where the difference comes in. It works symmetrically: guy shoots 82 and gets a 12.4. Guy plays off a 12.4 and… has to shoot 82.

    • I'm the commissioner of a golf league and am often asked about why someone's handicap is this or that or why it's going down or why it's not going up. Those kinds of questions can easily explain but this one has me struggling to come up with a logical answer. I understand the formulas to calculate the course differential for individual rounds, the handicap index that results after averaging the best 8 differentials of the most recent 20 rounds and finding the course handicap for an individual round. What I don’t understand is the logic. Here’s an example: Suppose a golfer plays the same course all the time. Let’s say it’s a Par-4, the Course Index is 68.4 and the Slope is 124. If someone shoots an 82, assuming no adjustment, the differential for that round would be (82-68.4) X (113/124) =12.4. Let’s further assume the average differential of his best 8 rounds is also 12.4. Now, if he goes back to that same golf course, his Course Handicap will be 12.4 X (124/113)+(68.4-72) = 10. I understand the math...that's pretty simple. I don’t understand the logic. Why aren’t they the same?
    • Day 5 - Old Macdonald Of all the courses, this one to me, played the most like a link course should play. Huge greens, plenty of room to play the ball down. This one was super fun to play.  Hole 3 is super cool, you tee off up and over this big dune, and at the top you get view of the nearly the entire course. It's like, here you go, enjoy.  I would rate this one 8.5/10 I think every one should play Pacific Dunes, but if I had to say which ones I think people would enjoy the most.  1. Bandon Dunes 2. Bandon Trail 3. Old MacDonald 4. Pacific Dunes.  Pacific Dunes is so demanding. For me, I enjoyed Old MacDonald and Bandon Dunes the most, but I think Pacific Dunes is the best course out there.  Some photos...
