What happened to CHIII? seems like not so long ago he was getting top tens and victories and in the news - now no where.

Always thought his swing was awesome. loads of speed.

I remember a good while ago he was in an interview talking about how he's just trying to play golf and stop getting caught up in the technical aspect of the game so much.

Such a shame as he he's such a talent, Howell was always just greatness for distance considering his body size

He's probably still with David Leadbetter... 'nuff said.

Great point. If I remember correctly, he's been with DL since a young teenager. I wonder how much longer.

David Leadbetter's website has instructions on how to hit a draw and a fade by aiming the clubface at the target and closing or opening your stance....hmmm. Good way for your ball to start at the target and curve away from it.

I have been a huge fan of his since getting to walk inside the ropes with him during a practice round at the 2001 US Open. At that time he was just coming off of his great amateur career and looked as if he would make a huge impact on tour. One of the original "young guns". I'm glad he has made a good career for himself but I'd love to see him find "it" and make a nice run.

      Day 39: did top golf for an hour with the family. It was fun but also not really like real golf at all. Also did some mirror work - working on the backswing stuff mostly.

      Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.

      Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.

      Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
